Surrey rider wins national Equinalysis competition
Equinalysis, the equine health and performance specialists, recently challenged online visitors to Horse and Hound magazine’s website to improve their horse’s performance by booking a gait screening session, and win two year’s worth of locomotive screening for their horse. The prize haul also included a pair of long leather Mountain Horse riding boots, either the Richmond or Classic High Rider, worth £195. Jane Whitmore from East Horsley was selected from hundreds of entries to win two year's worth of locomotive screening - that’s two annual ‘benchmarking’ screenings worth £200 plus VAT each. The screenings include eight biomechanical measurements, including stride length and fetlock hyperextension, and have proved to be a useful tool to help promote equine soundness by identifying abnormalities in a horse’s movement. “Many horses experience occasional soundness issues, while few equines are completely symmetrical throughout their body. However, each horse has its own spectrum of optimum movement, and technology is now available to ascertain whether a horse is biomechanically moving at his optimum,” says an Equinalysis spokesperson of the screening technology. Call 01291 671351 or visit www.equinalysis.co.uk for more information about the screening, or to see the Mountain Horse range, visit: www.horsemasters.co.uk for product info.
